Make your dreams, desires, goals, wants, and needs a success with these simple steps

Hello everyone, welcome to the Health Is PowHer podcast episode 39.

 I’m so excited for this episode as it outlines one of our frameworks to achieve optimal wellbeing - no matter what’s bogging you down - chronic pain, addiction, anxiety, depression, feeling in a funk, apathetic, lethargic, fatigued, dealing with severe disease like cancer or autoimmune disease - or just wanting to feel healthier and alive.

During our 2021 Optimal Wellbeing Challenge in our Facebook Group (by the way you can still join and watch the video recordings HERE) - many of the members wrote out what they truly wanted as a human being, as their own person, what their essential authentic self wants - without thinking about the limitations of failure, people pleasing, the procrastination trap of perfectionism.

All these feelings don’t they make you SING with self- love and energy? It’s really amazing how these little thoughts that we create for ourselves can cause a shift in our energy pattern. So after we’ve gone through releasing what no longer serves us to reach our highest potential and if you haven't it's okay you're still in the right place. Just head over to Episode 38: Releasing what no longer serves youshownotes or iTunes, Stitcher, or Spotify podcast if you'd rather listen, and finding inspiration to be who we want to be and live how we want to live; today is about preparing ourselves to sustain this momentum and progress we’re going to make today, tomorrow, next week, in a few months and for the entire year. 

Building our support system is about setting up your own system to make you successful at continually getting closer to your wants, desires, feelings, the life you want to live - your ultimate attainable goal for yourself.

It’s like an automation of sorts but not for business or research, for you, your life, so you can feel your best in order to be your true self that has so much unlimited potential of impacting others and the world in such a way that no one else can!

Support system is often thought of people that help support you like the relationships in your life, but can include so much more. But it’s a good place to start.

- maybe setting a couple boundaries with the family, friends, colleagues- maybe just start with one simple boundary per week to make it less scary and nerve-wracking and anxiety inducing. 

Maybe it means going to bed earlier and not staying up to watch that show with your family - or maybe it means taking some time out after dinner or when everyone settled down for the evening to go have your alone time.

You may have to announce it to everyone - your spouse, your kids, your roomies, your dogs ;) that you need some time to decompress to be a better person for them so you can give them more.

This is the time you need to write down your feelings and the things you’re still working toward - the energy you want to have, the feelings you want to let go of, forgiving the upsets of the day, and manifesting and visualizing what you want for yourself. 

You need time to constantly let go of the day’s stresses to not let it build up inside of you wreaking havoc on our health - both physical mentally emotionally and spiritually. 

You also need some time to create and manifest the life you truly want to live.  Again 80% of creating the feeling you want--

abundant, wealthy, healthy, energetic, vital, loved

--all comes from the inner work - your mindset - your beliefs and the time you take to let go of what no longer serves you.

The other 20% success of achieving how you want to feel comes from the small baby steps, action items, and tasks.

And who cares about those "shoulds" - "I should be there more for my family, I should get that promotion, I should work harder to get that project done"...you get the picture...

Life doesn't have to change on a dime either, for example, where suddenly you quit your job that is financially supporting the family, but you can start making the small changes you need by spending more time with your true authentic self - your spirit - the real you that wants to be happy every single day, be at peace with the world, be financially taken care of, have deep and restful sleep, feel inner harmony despite the world’s crazy. 

You are obviously going to do this different from me, but I just want to tell you how I started.

I obviously want to share with the world that we all have the power to heal, that we’re more powerful than we know and that we can tap into that strength, vitality, we never knew existed b/c we’re always limiting ourselves and "shoulding" ourselves all the time.

 I created space for myself in the mornings as I was started getting so tense before the work day - worrying about an event with my patients or a parent that was angry and hysterical yelling at the nurses or something that was out of my control that created chaos in the clinic day. 

I was always bracing myself - and because of that my muscles, my fascia, skin started tightening up - especially my right shoulder/arm. And think it meant that i was letting the world affect me instead of me affecting it after I had this hawk dream that landed on my right arm/hand - showing me my hand and arm over and over again - and the right hand/arm resembles your power. 

So I started to stretch and meditate at the same time for about 10-20 min each morning - and I use Yoga with Adriene. Because she’s the bomb and she’s free on youtube and she supports a little meditative practice with each yoga video. She’s doing a 30-day yoga series in January on youtube called Breath, so check it out.

My Automation

At night, after dinner and getting our life chores done, I go up to my room, write in my journal what’s bothering me, speak my truth in the journal or while I’m praying, and lay it bare b/c somehow speaking  your truth of the day kills its power by not allowing it to deeply embed in you - you get it out there - out of your body. And then I just do a quick 5-12 min meditation/manifestation practice based off of my need that day. 

I work on forgiving and letting go - forgiving my colleague who tries to exploit my work, or a parent who wasn’t allowing her child to be who she is and by not getting anywhere with the patient, by getting frustrated by fatigue or not sleeping the night before, I mean all these things right that we all experience, worry that someone doesn’t like me b/c I accidentally said something I shouldn’t have and didn’t know it… Forgiving everyone in FREAKING 2020 b/c it seemed like everyone kind of went crazy mad due to hella lot of problems. But giving grace is giving back to yourself. It’s for you and that sounds selfish, but it’s not. The more you give to yourself the more you give to others. 

ALLOW FOR CHANGE

Now, your support system changes all the time; depending on what’s not working for you  but you have to keep trying different situations out.  You keep asking for help, you keep asking the universe, your God, your spirit, whatever you want to call that power of yours - you allow yourself that abundance and keep bringing it to you.  You ask for guidance on how and somehow it will be shown to you - maybe in small subtle messages.

But praise God, mine was the song “Into the Unknown” when I watched Frozen 2.  That I don’t have a clue what I’m doing but I know I wanted to help women in a different way than I can in a conventional clinic setting, and I’m just doing it. I don’t know where it will lead but I trust that that this “unknown” is going to lead somewhere good - and it feels right. It’s just resonating with me - bringing my energy up, creating excitement, and fear and joy all at the same time. 

The key is just to stay with yourself - your true authentic self - every day. Speak your truth, write down your truth. And the door opens for you. All these possibilities you never thought possible b/c all the “shoulds” were holding you back. YOu kept getting in your own way, but now it’s time to start paying attention to who you are so you can give your gifts and talents to others -whether directly or indirectly. The world just needs you - as you are. 

The most common pitfall - is giving up on yourself. Is thinking that who am I to do this, or who am I to have this, or I don’t deserve this (you may not say that out loud but there’s this ego/this protective mechanism of ours that try and keep us safe - when it actually turns out it’s hurting us in the long run). We’re going to get hurt no matter what. That’s life, but how we react and get back up is ours for the taking.

And beliefs can change. And so can you. And that’s what makes us powerful. 

Ask for help, even if it’s to no one. Just ask to the universe, to God, to the air. I remember when I was so incredibly sick after I left a job that was super toxic. I just broke down b/c I was sick for almost an entire year. I finally surrendered that I couldn’t keep pushing anymore with this vague non-diagnosable illness, and just asked God, your higher self, the universe, mother earth, whoever it is - for help.

And then it came. A mentor who was too busy to see me b/c he was overbooked with clients suddenly opened up - and this person apparently is sought after around the world - and someone dropped off forever on his books and opened up for me. And I got the email. And then using his coaching, I started feeling better. I started having more energy. I started feeling like myself again, the Authentic Anna. And that was my goal, my desire - just feeling like me again. Feeling Alive.

How Resistance Comes Into Play On Your Journey to Feeling Your Best

When you are changing; shedding the old and allowing yourself to be heard, to be seen, to be alive again. Resistance happens because God or the Universe is making what you no longer want and what no longer serves you even MORE uncomfortable!

Resistance becomes an issue when you are releasing the need to continue whatever block or limitation you have. The universal wisdom is helping you recognize and be aware of the pattern and make it so uncomfortable for you that you can no longer ignore this and keep carrying it with you. 

Our actions often show the resistance in action - Changing the subject, procrastinating, going to the bathroom, getting sick, busy tranquilizing ourselves.

Don’t let your resistance stop you from making the changes b/c your ego is like yes, let me protect you let’s do something else b/c this is the greatest lesson for you to change and the ego doesn’t want you to change b/c that’s risky that’s unsafe and the ego must protect you. 

Impatience is another form of resistance. It is resistance to learning and changing. When we want it done right now in a flash, we don’t give ourselves that time to learn the actual lesson of whatever problem we’re limiting ourselves to. 

We also make make assumptions and keep to our beliefs that justify our resistance - that it won’t do any good, that only crazy people go to therapists, that only other people get better and not me, that I’ll be able to deal with this later and it probably won’t help me, and no one will support me. 

Or..."God doesn’t approve, they won’t let me change, this isn’t the right time, this isn’t the right environment, freaking COVID happened, it’s their fault, they are the ones making me upset, they have to change, I don’t want to be a burden, i don’t want them to get mad at me. I dont want to be a disappointment. I don’t want to FAIL."

So my last point is to be inspired daily, to keep singing, to keep that feeling alive, to know that you can do this b/c your heart just aligns with it, your spirit just comes to life, and you are GLOWING b/c of it.
